OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

CONTEST DESCRIPTION:

The “Imported From Detroit” (the Summer Jamz 15 Edition) contest (“Contest”) will begin on May 6, 2012 and end on June 10, 2012 (“Contest Period”).  This Contest will be conducted exclusively online.  One (1) grand prize winner will be awarded the opportunity to perform at Summer Jamz 15 in Detroit on June 23, 2012.

HOW TO ENTER:

Legal residents of the United States, residing in the State of Michigan who are 18 years of age or older will be able to take part in this Contest.  To participate in the Contest, participants must do the following:

  1. Listeners will be encouraged to submit their photo, radio ready song, and a video link (of their performance of two (2) minutes or less in length) to www.hothiphopdetroit.com upickem contest page.

  1. Contestants must perform an original song.  No covers or sampling of other artists’ material or music is permitted, and will lead to disqualification.

  1. Contestants must submit their entries at www.hothiphopdetroit.com.

  1. Upon entering the Contest website, participants are to follow the on-screen instructions, including entering their name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, and any optional or additional contact information, as requested, and upload their photo and video to register for a chance to win.

  1. Entries will be reviewed (for quality control prior to posting online) by a team that will include members of the Station’s promotion department, an on-air personality, and a celebrity recording artist.  Throughout the online competition, contest entrants will be selected by the team to compete against the winner of a designated round.

  1. All entries must be received by 11:59pm EST June 3, 2011 or they will be void.  Entries will be posted online for public voting.

  1. By uploading a video submission and entering this Contest, each participant represents and warrants to be bound the Official Contest rules, and that they are authorized to and have the rights to submit the content in the video entry.

  1. One entry per person per day per email address during the Contest Period.

  1. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of a participant’s online entry, the entry will be deemed to have been made by the authorized holder of the e-mail account at the time the entry was made.

  1. Online voting will occur in multiple rounds and the schedule is as follows:

ROUND ONE:  On May 13, 2011 two (2) contestants will be selected to compete against each other for online votes.  The voting period will run from May 6th through May 13th.  The contestant receiving the greatest number of online votes during Round One will move on to compete in the next round.

ROUND TWO:  One (1) contestant selected for Round Two will compete against the contestant that received the greatest number of online votes during Round One.  The voting period will run from May 13th through May 20th.  The contestant receiving the most votes during Round Two will move on to compete in the next round.

ROUND THREE:  One (1) contestant will be selected for Round Three that will compete against the contestant that received the most votes during Round Two.  The voting period will run from May 20th through May 27th.  The contestant receiving the highest number of votes during Round Three will move on to compete in the next round.   

ROUND FOUR:  One (1) contestant selected for Round Four will compete against the contestant that received the most online votes during Round Three.  The voting period will run from May 27th through June 3rd.  The contest receiving the greatest number of votes during Round Four will move on to compete in the next round.    

ROUND FIVE:   One (1) contestant will be selected for Round Five that will compete against the contestant that received the highest number of online votes during Round Four.  The voting period will run from June 3rd through June 10th.  The contestant receiving the greatest number of votes during Round Five will be declared the grand prize winner 

 

Entry Requirements:

  • Video entry must be two (2) minutes or less in length
  • Entries may not be patently offensive, illegal, pornographic or obscene, or similarly inappropriate in Sponsors’ sole discretion.
  • Submissions may not infringe upon any rights of any third party including without limitation, copyright, trademark and right of publicity or privacy
  • Entries must be produced and solely owned by the contestant submitting the entry
  • Entries must not contain commercial products (e.g., clothing, toys, food) and/or their trademarks, brands, logos or endorsements
  • Entries must be unpublished and not have been submitted in other competitions
  • Submissions must not contain: derogatory characterizations of any ethnic, racial, sexual or religious groups, humiliate other people (publicly or otherwise), or otherwise assault or threaten others
  • If any individuals, in addition to the contestant, are featured in the photo or video entry, each entrant warrants and represents that the entrant has obtained permission from each person who appears in the submission(s)

ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS:

  1. The Contest is open only to legal residents of the United States who reside in the State of Michigan  and are 18 years of age or older at the time of Contest registration. 

  1. Employees of WGPR, Bell Broadcasting Company, its officers, directors, subsidiaries, affiliates, general sponsors, advertisers, promotional partners, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, parent companies, members of the immediate families (defined as spouse, child, sibling, parent, or grandparent), and members of the households (whether related or not) of any of the above are NOT eligible to participate or win in this Contest.

  1. Persons who have won a prize in another contest or promotion of any kind from WGPR within the thirty-day (30) period immediately preceding the start date of this Contest are not eligible to participate.

  1. Contestants agree to abide with any applicable federal, state, local laws and regulations.

PRIZES:

  1. If a winner is unable to accept the prize, the prize will be forfeited in its entirety.

  1. Prize package will include the following:
    1. A 3 -5 minute performance spot during Summer Jamz 15
    2. Video and song featured on hothiphopdetroit.com
    3. Two (2) pairs of tickets to Summer Jamz 15 (NO EXCEPTION)
    4. Four (4) backstage passes/credentials (For performers only  - No Exceptions)
    5. One (:60) interview on HOT 107.5 before winner’s performance at Summer Jamz 15.

  1. No substitution of prize is offered, no transfer of prize to a third party is permitted and non-cash prizes may not be redeemed for cash value, except as determined by WGPR management and/or the sponsor in its sole discretion.

  1. All Contest winners must sign and date official WGPR release and waiver forms as requested.  Failure to do so will result in the winner’s forfeiture of the prize.

  1. Prizes will be awarded only upon winner verification and final approval by WGPR.  Each winner or selected entrant will be notified by email, mail and/or phone within thirty (30) days after being selected (e.g., date of drawing).  Each winner or selected entrant will then have two (2) days to respond with their information.  If the winner or selected entrant is unable to be contacted within two (2) days after being selected (e.g. drawing date), is ineligible, fails to claim a prize or fails to return completed and executed release forms and affidavits, if applicable and as required by WGPR, or if the prize notification or prize is returned undeliverable, that prize will be forfeited and if time permits, at the discretion of the contest sponsor / and or contest administrator, an alternate entrant will be selected as the winner by random drawing from among the remaining entries. 

  1. Winners will be instructed to come to the offices of the WGPR located at 3250 Franklin Street Detroit, Michigan 48207.  Winners must provide valid identification (i.e. via driver’s license, passport or other photo I.D.) to claim their prize.

EXECUTION:

  1. During the Contest Period, eligible participants will be encouraged to take part in the Contest by registering online at www.hothiphopdetroit.com.  After completing the registration process, qualified entrants will be eligible for a chance to win the grand prize.

  1. Entries will be posted online for public voting (as described in the How to Enter section of the Official Rules).  Voting will occur in multiple rounds and each week during the Contest Period, announcements will be made on the air regarding the winner of a designated round and the contestant that has been selected to challenge the winner in the next round of the competition.  Listeners will be encouraged to vote for their favorite contestant during each round.

  1. The grand prize winner will be announced on June 15, 2012.

  1. The grand prize winner will be notified by phone.

  1. The winner’s name will be posted on the Contest website or otherwise announced publicly over the air-waves of WGPR.  The winner will be instructed to claim their prize at the offices of WGPR.  

  1. All decisions made by WGPR and Bell Broadcasting Company management or any Contest Sponsor regarding any aspect of this Contest are final. 

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

  1. Winners are responsible for all applicable taxes associated with the receipt of the prize (prizes are not transferable and may not be exchanged).

  1. Any person winning over $600.00 in prizes will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year for tax purposes and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS as required by law.

  1. No purchase necessary.  Contest is void where prohibited.  Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, local laws and regulations.

  1. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible contestants participating during the Contest Period.

  1. By participating in the Contest, the winner or winners agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this Contest, in any media now known or hereafter devised for advertising or promotional purposes without additional compensation, and must sign a publicity release prior to acceptance of the prize.  By entering this Contest, each participant agrees to comply with these Official Contest Rules and the decisions of the WGPR and or Contest sponsor which shall be final and binding in all aspects relating to the Contest.

 

  1. WGPR and Bell Broadcasting Company retain the right to disqualify any contestant if all Contest rules are not followed.

  1. All Contest winners will be required to sign a liability release prior to acceptance of any prize.  Pursuant to the liability release, the winner or winners will agree to hold WGPR, Bell Broadcasting Company, sponsor, any other Contest parties and each of their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies, officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of the foregoing, harmless against any and all claims or liability, directly or indirectly related to or arising from or in connection with Contest participation or the acceptance, possession or use / misuse of any awarded prize or any portion thereof, or participation in prize-related activities, including but not limited to any related travel. 

  1. By accepting the prize, the winner acknowledges that WGPR and Bell Broadcasting Company have neither made, nor are in any manner responsible or liable for, any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prize or to any portion thereof, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness for a particular purpose.

  1. Dates and times of concerts and trips promoted by Contest sponsors are subject to change and those changes are deemed to be beyond the control of WGPR and Bell Broadcasting Company.  Changes of venue, cancellation of engagements by performing artists, and/or their management may be permanent in nature.  WGPR and Bell Broadcasting Company are not obligated to make any effort to find an alternative prize under these circumstances.

  1. Any information collected by registering to enter the Contest shall be used only in a manner consistent with these Official Contest Rules.

  1. WGPR, Bell Broadcasting Company, participating sponsors and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates or their representatives, agents and employees are not responsible for the inability of any contestant to complete or continue an internet registration due to equipment malfunction, busy lines, inadvertent disconnections, unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP) or other connections, communication failures or human error that may occur in the transmission, receipt or processing of entries, including any injury or damage to any computer arising from or relating to participation in this Promotion.  Any use of robotic, macro, automatic, programmed or like entry methods will void all such entries, and may subject that entrant to disqualification.  In addition, WGPR, Bell Broadcasting Company, participating sponsors and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates or their representatives, agents and employees are not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, mutilated, illegible or incomplete contest entries.  No mechanically reproduced or automated entries permitted.  Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void.  Once submitted, entries become the property of WGPR / Bell Broadcasting Company and will not be returned.

  1. If for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including without limitation, any suspected evidence of tampering or technological corruption or if any portion of the Contest is compromised by virus, bugs, worms or unauthorized human intervention, fraud, acts of God, strikes, terrorists acts, criminal acts of third parties, an insufficient number of qualified Contest entries, or any other causes beyond WGPR / Bell Broadcasting Company’s control which, in WGPR / Bell Broadcasting Company’s sole opinion, corrupts, threatens or impairs the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest, WGPR and Bell Broadcasting Company reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest at their sole discretion.

  1. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be in violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, WGPR and Bell Broadcasting Company reserve the right to seek remedies and damages (including attorney's fees) from any such entrant to the fullest extent of the law, including criminal prosecution.
